Hullabaloo is a Kindie Rock institution. I spoke to Steve Denyes the day after their 3000th show. The band has been performing for 13 years and has put out 13 albums! You’ll enjoy hearing all about the band, the music, and what Steve has learned after spending so much time singing with kids. Be sure to stay tuned all the way until the end of the show to hear the Hullabaloo song ‘I Wear Pink’.
Toby Pechner joins me on Episode 6 of Good Stuff Sports to talk about his love of the San Francisco Giants as well as his time as a “Ball Dude” with the team. Ever wondered about what ball boys/bat boys do? What’s the game like for them? Toby has answers! He also makes a bet with Zachy about who will win the Superbowl (we recorded a while ago). You need to hear that. Additionally, Assistant Producer Zachy joins me to give his prediction for the upcoming Baseball season. Spring is here! Let’s play ball!
Do you have heroes? Historical heroes? People that you look up to and inspire you with their story? If you do, then Jonathan Sprout has probably written a song about them. Jonathan is a very accomplished singer/songwriter who has written 10 albums of family music. He has three records devoted to heroes such as: Dr. Seuss, Neil Armstrong, Walt Disney, George Washington Carver, and Rachel Carson to name just a few. Jonathan digs deep into his subject matter and his passion and devotion to these heroes comes through in the music! Stay tuned all the way to the end to hear Jonathan’s song about Dr. Seuss.
Chibi Kodama is back!!! Third time guest’s Chibi Kodama talk with me about their new record ‘Between Main Street and Neverland’ as well as the transition of moving and starting new schools. The whole gang joins me to talk about a wide variety of topics like lice, skittles, China, Stranger Things and of course, music! You can check out their brand new song ’11’ at the end of the show.
Colors! Or should I say Colours! Marlowe and the Mix are a super fun, poppy, and energetic group from Toronto, Canada. She also has a strong and positive message. I loved talking to Marlowe about her music and what it means to her to create high energy music for kids to enjoy. She is an award winner in Canada, specifically the Independent music awards. Her music is so great, my 5 year old daughter is sitting by my side, completely entranced with the music, as I write this! Check Marlowe out!
We’re also lucky that Uncle D checked in from a remote location.
Eric Energy (Eric Krupkin) is all about fun and science. He puts the two together to make a live show where kids of all ages are having as much fun laughing and smiling as they are learning. If you love fog, potions, and laser lights then this episode is for you!
I’ve actually known Eric for many many years. I just hadn’t talked to him or seen him in a very long time. I was and still am thrilled to reconnect with him. More of the story in the episode!
