I was introduced to The BreakWomb by my wife, Mrs. Goodstuff. She watches their videos and laughs until she cries, every single time. The team of Molly, Laurel, and Megan are incredibly hilarious and capture parenthood in a way that parents can relate to – the good, the annoying, the frustrating, and the amazing. Be sure to check out their youtube channel to see all of their videos. If you need a place to start check out “If Mom’s Treated Their Bosses Like Kids Treat Their Moms”. It’s our personal fav!
Andrew & Polly are the husband and wife duo behind the incredible and creative ‘Ear Snacks’ podcast. They have a new album coming out which features song that they’ve written for the podcast and it is such a fun and excellent record. It was fascinating to hear about the amount of time and effort that goes into their work. They describe their show as a way to explore the world around us from a kids and experts perspective. They’re also founding members of kids listen which is a grass roots organization that advocates for high quality audio content for kids. Andrew & Polly have a tireless work ethic and they’re great people.
Liza Dora is on the show this week! Liza Dora is an author whose books are great for kids and their parents with powerful messages of acceptance and that kids should be empowered to be who they want to be. Her writing celebrates what makes each of us different and unique. She has published three books with another on the way very soon. Check out her work here. I really enjoyed talking to her and hearing her story and about what inspires her to write.
I also talked to Becca who had an amazing eight month run as a skipper on the Jungle Cruise at Disney World! Haven’t you always wanted to know what the scoop was with those folks? Where do the jokes come from? Are they actually driving? Well, Becca is here to set the record straight.
Laurie Berkner is a very popular musician who writes songs that your kids will love. She’s also an incredibly nice and funny person. I stumbled upon her music years ago and it’s been a large part of my families musical repertoire since that fateful moment I heard about Laurie and the pig on her head. Laurie has a brand new album ‘Superhero’ coming out this Friday. I didn’t edit out the tail end of our conversation because I think it gives further proof to the kind of person that Laurie Berkner is: gracious, kind, and a pleasure to talk to.
Laurie was an early influence on why I started the Good Stuff Kids Podcast. I couldn’t believe that I had never heard of her or her music and at the time I had been working in a preschool as a music teacher for several years. I hope that you enjoy my conversation with one of the best kids musicians out there.
25 episodes! It seems fitting for one of my oldest (and best) friends to be on the show for the 25th episode. Noam Katz is a singer and songwriter who has released three albums with a fourth in process. We’ve played many shows, and eaten tons of chicken wings/bbq/various other snacks together. It was an interesting challenge to take our usual banter and try to transform it in a way that showcased Noam the performer/songwriter. I think we more than succeeded at our task. Noam is launching a jewcer campaign to crowdfund his new album ‘After The Flood’ in conjunction with the release of this episode of the Good Stuff Kids Podcast. Support him and his music!
