This one’s a double whammy! It was a pleasure to welcome grammy nominee and returning guest Tim Kubart and new favorites, and also grammy nominees, Frank & Deane to a very special pre-grammy edition of the Good Stuff Kids Podcast. Be sure to listen to Tim’s full song ‘Oopsie-Do’ and Frank and Deane’s ‘I Blew My Kazoo At The Zoo’ after their respective interviews. Good luck to all of the nominees! Be sure to check out my conversations with other nominees Lucy Kalantari and Falu. And check out the ‘Pop Ups’. Future guests of the Good Stuff Kids Podcast.
Sukey Molloy is here for episode #180! We talked a lot about child development, particularly brain development, and her brand new record ‘Five Little Oysters.” It was fascinating to hear how Sukey uses different artistic mediums and her knowledge on other subjects to enhance her music. Here’s a teaser: Felt and Sound Effects…
“Sukey Molloy puts a big smile on traditional favorites and mixes them with original songs, poetry, and a story for the release of her fifth album, Five Little Oysters! Listeners are invited into a personal, intimate world of familiar old time favorites as Molloy changes up the lyrics with lots of special effects, creative rhythmic nuances, and colorful percussive textures, and highlights educational, learning fun with counting, farm animals, and cozy family listening for children of all ages!”
I had the best time talking with Rebecca Cunningham about the incredible Girl Tales Podcast. We had a wide ranging conversation which focused on the creation and vision for her show. This is the podcast for girls and families who are looking for something different that reflects how we teach want to teach our daughters.
“Girl Tales is a podcast featuring reimagined fairytales. Damsels in distress? Princesses in need of protection? You won’t find those here. The girls in our stories take control of their own destinies, turning your favorite fairytales into exciting new adventures. Written by women, non-binary, and trans male playwrights, Girl Tales offers a feminist twist on classic fairytales, fables, and myths. With energetic voice actors and professional sound design, these radio plays burst to life at the touch of a button.”
The Space Chums are “The Galactastic Rock Band For The Kids Of The Universe”. Galactastic indeed! The Space Chums have the rock n’ roll chops to appeal to both kids and families. They go all out for their live shows with videos, lasers, fog, and robots! Be sure to listen all the way to the end to hear their song ‘Calling All Space Cadets’. It’s time to blast off!
Sometimes things don’t work out the way we plan. That’s the case for EZ the main character in Bob Katz’s “EZ And The Intangibles”. It’s a basketball story, but more so it’s a story of resilience that young athletes will relate to and learn from. Bob and I talked about hoops, refereeing, youth sports, and about his book. Enjoy!
Here she is! Margot Bevington is a teacher and musician who makes joyful and gentle music that you and your family will enjoy. This is her first podcast interview and she knocked it out of the park. We talked music and about her studies which include Avante Garde music. It blew my mind! It was so cool that she took time out of her day job, which is teaching music to high school students (and many other ages), to talk to me. She’s thoughtful and kind and just the best!
